Memorable 3D Movies in the 1950s
Whenever I had to promote stereoscopic technology for StereoGraphics to prospective technology partners or software developers, invariably I encountered a groaning response to the effect of "Stereo-3D? You mean like those 3D movies from the '50s???"
I think it's rather noteworthy that people seem to associate stereoscopic technology with this one example era, even though most everyone I met was too young to have been alive at the time such movies were released.
So how is it that these movies have such a bad rep? To give you some idea, here are some of the more memorable titles of 3D movies at the time.

Most likely, you may recognize these titles from conventional (non-3D) showings on the late-late show on TV. Without seeing them in 3D, theses movies have to stand on their own story line, as thin as they may be.
